The SODC Restorative Dental Hygiene program is a competitive curriculum designed to provide students with the ability to perform advanced restorative procedures and preventive measures.

Restorative Dental Hygiene Program Specifics

  • Applicants must be a Registered Dental Hygienist in good standing with the Provincial Regulator to be considered for acceptance
  • 22 weeks in duration (532 hours)
  • Hybrid Program delivery.
  • Theory taught 80 % in an online learning environment with flexible learning at any time and 20% in synchronous environment.
  • Clinic in-person on weekends (from 8 AM- 5 PM).
  • Each intake has a capacity of 16 students

Our program will run during evenings and weekends. This program is OSAP-approved.

Restorative Dental Hygiene Program

The Restorative Dental Hygiene Program is 22 weeks in duration. Students are able to wear their own scrubs.

Tuition includes the following:

  • All required textbooks
  • Restorative Dental Hygiene instruments
  • 1 dental model (typodont)
  • Personal protective equipment

Documentation Requirements

  • Application Form (download from website)
  • $250 Application Fee (non-refundable)
  • Current Certificate of Registration with CDHO.
  • Personal Statement Letter (500-600 words, your preparation for Restorative DH, why are you applying to SODC, and career plans after completing the Program)
  •  2 Letters of Reference from a Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist
  • Police check
  • First Aid & CPR/AED Level C
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) with hands on component
  • WHMIS
  • Immunization Records (measles, mumps, rubella, polio, diphtheria, tetanus, hep. B, negative T.B. skin test, varicella)
